The Youth Sports Complex (YSC) was a great hit when the gates opened at 5:00PM on May 4th, 2007.  There were many events lined up for the two day grand opening.   From crawfish to live music, a fishing derby to various sports; it was a great two days for families and friends in Arkadelphia.

I was amazed at the people's interest and enthusiasm for the new facility.  I witnessed four vehicles drive through the park on Sunday when we had left the gates open for only 30 minutes to do cleanup activities.  A couple said they missed out on the fishing tournament, and wanted to see the new pond.  The others just wanted to see the new facility.

There were 24 ball games played on the four fields Saturday to break the facility in.  Everyone did a great job that weekend, and I look forward to seeing the YSC in full swing this summer. It really is something for Arkadelphia to be proud of.
